Photos above show (from left) A Standel 520-S guitar from 1968 fitted with two recessed versions of the Model 2000 pickup fitted with plastic bezels.  The fifth knob seen on the lower bout is a 'Blend' control (photo courtesy RetroFret Vintage Guitars, New York)).  Next, a 1960s Silvertone Jupiter guitar fitted with two 'Diamond-grille' pickups with integral bezels.  Note the bridge pickup itself is raised above the bezel, towards the strings.  This was achieved by moulding two dimples into the otherwise flat steel baseplate (photo courtesy www.imaginephotoaz.com)  Lastly, a circa 1950 Silvertone Model 708 archtop fitted with one Hershey Bar pickup and controls all mounted in a pickguard (photo courtesy of Guitars West, Murietta, California, USA).
